Become a National Youth Ambassador for Health Research

Everyone benefits from health and medical research.  Immunisations against childhood diseases or cervical cancer, antibiotic treatments for bacterial infection, sunscreens and lifestyle prescriptions all began with research.  Increasingly, new technologies are paving the way for cures and treatments that promote living healthier longer lives.

Medical technology encompasses a wide range of health care products and techniques that are used to diagnose, monitor and treat diseases and promote healthy living.   There are 500,000 products that are a result of medical technology including everything from artificial limbs and implants, to pregnancy tests, contact lenses and syringes.

How to enter:  Medical Technology - Have your say!

Submit an 800 - 1,000 word essay or 3 minute video about:

"Medical Technology will always play a critical role in our lives".  Justify your views

As a guide, you may want to consider aspects of your life and surroundings that have been impacted by medical technology.  Analyse how these have made a difference in the way we live today and may change the way we live in the future.   Your essay or video will be judged on the extent to which you develop your point of view in a reasonable and convincing way, as well as effectiveness with which you express yourself.
