Chairman's Message

Dr Christine Bennett -Â Chairman, Research Australia
Health and medical research offers a means to keep Australians healthy, while supporting a productive workforce, healthy communities and growing a strong national economy.
Founded in 2000, Research Australia is a national alliance of approximately 170 organisations, with a mission to make health and medical research a higher national priority. Our vision is that through research and innovation Australians will continue to embrace new frontiers of science to improve the health of all in our community. Â
Research Australia represents the people and organisations that together represent excellence in Australian health and medical research, whether conducted in universities, institutes, hospitals and industry. Through effective policy advocacy to promote excellent research, we help generate stronger connections between governments, researchers, industry and philanthropy to maximise effectiveness of our investment in research.Â
90% of Australians believe medical and health research on prevention, treatment and cures for illnesses and diseases will play an important part in Australia’s future. Building on this support Research Australia will continue to promote a strong community and corporate culture that supports continued growth in Australian health and medical research.
Our members are the lifeblood of our alliance. Through them, we aspire to achieve the best possible health outcomes for Australia, and to promote better health throughout the globe.
Dr Christine Bennett
Chairman, Research Australia
